We came back again for our annual Christmas time dinner. We came with friends. Had some drinks at the downstairs bar before dinner. We had reservations and valet parked out front. This makes it easy in New Hope. Table wasn't ready right away. Our meal started with the Bacon appetizer. Big pieces of bacon. If you don't like fatty pieces of bacon don't get this. The guys enjoyed, the girls didn't. Our meals were good. Prices are expensive, so be prepared to pay.

Our initial plan was to visit More Than Q in Lambertville. Finding them closed, we drove into New Hope. Had no idea Marsha Brown served lunch. My wife and I had been there long ago, long before my Yelping days for a surprise party. Enjoyed it very much then. Enjoyed it very much now. Shawn (Sean) took good care of us. My son and I started with some really good warm bread and butter followed by thick cut slab bacon. Flavorful to put it charitably, we made it disappear in short order. Next up were Louisiana Burgers. Rare and medium rare, onion strings and hot sauce. No cheese, please. Both burgers came out cooked to order and were very tasty. Fries were well seasoned and crisp. No room for dessert. A leisurly lunch. Fine service. Good food. That's what it's all about. We'll be back soon.

Heavy, yummy. Yummy, heavy. Anniversary dinner. Made reservations a while in advance, and if you note the occasion you get a free dessert on the house :) Atmosphere: It's a legit church. The huge painting was commissioned after it was turned into a restaurant, but the vibe is just so cool. Crowded and busy on a Saturday night. Food: Ordered the crab cheesecake for starters. This dish is largely portioned, and it is oh so creamy/heavy. You get the perfect mix of crab meat and smoked gouda, but not as many roasted red peppers as i'd have liked. This dish was really great the first few bites but be warned that it gets heavy. I started using the fresh french bread they give (which, by the way is so soft and warm and addicting) to scoop up some of the dish. The butter with the bread is great and the bean paste provided is also a pretty solid touch. I ordered the eggplant ophelia and the partner ordered the Jambalaya. The eggplant ophelia was super delicious. It isn't as creamy as the crab cheesecake, but the sauce it's provided in is rich and tasty. I especially loved the crunch bits of cooked crab meat. The jambalaya was HUGE and filled with a lot of tasty ingredients, my favorite being the andouille sausage. We were stuffed by the time we finished the entrees, but when we were told that dessert was on the house, we couldn't pass it up. With Doug's (our waiter) recommendation we got the bread pudding, which I don't believe was on the menu. Let me tell you, this is the best bread pudding i've ever had. It wasn't too soggy, the bread was very airy and bouncy (if that makes sense), it wasn't too sweet which made the vanilla bean ice cream and bourbon cream sauce a perfect touch. It was pure heaven and so good that we forgot we were full and inhaled it all rather quickly. Service: Doug was great. I will note that it took a while for us to get our entrees, like about 25-30 minutes after we finished our appetizer. The price is great too for the amount of food you're given. I would definitely come back whenever I find my way back to New Hope.

Very cool place located in an old church. I would definitely recommend reservations if you want to go here. We were able to walk in during the day and get a seat during dinner time. Based on everyone's suggestions. I ordered the crab cheesecake as an appetizer. It was very good. Heavy and rich but good. I ordered a steak. It was cooked just as I ordered it and very flavorful. For me creamed spinach is a no brainer as a side. It was excellent. The staff was very professional. Quick, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. There are a lot of choices in New Hope. Definitely put Marsha Brown on your list.

Eating here made me feel like I was in New Orleans. This nicely renovated church in New Hope was a close as you can get to Creole fare without the airfare. Our server Rebecca was very friendly and quickly delivered a bag of what I have to say was one of the best loaves of bread I have ever had. Crisp and hot with lots of butter. It went quickly. The cup of Gumbo Ya Ya was delicious. It was full of perfectly cooked chicken, andouille sausage over fluffy rice covered with Cajun roux. My wife enjoyed her Crab Louis with lots of fresh sweet crab meat. My Catfish Po Boy came on more of that excellent bread. The catfish had a lite tasty breadcrumb coating the nicely fried fish. A side of home made Cajun potato chips was the perfect accompaniment to the sandwich. My Pims Cup drink was excellent. Too full for dessert but will come back for more tastes of New Orleans.
